:
BALANCE THE BUDGET, EQUALIZE THE TAX
We recognize that every tax levied by government deprives people of not only their money, but also their labor, their time, and their freedom. Our present system of direct taxation and unrestrained government spending has resulted in levels of taxation far exceeding those resisted by our founding fathers. We need to cut federal spending down to constitutional size with a balanced budget amendment and replace the current graduated income tax system with one modeled after the original approach found in the Constitution. A simple plan of a flat tax, based on realistic figures, will give equal responsibility to every citizen of the United States. This would allow for the elimination of all direct federal taxes such as income, estate, and capital gains taxes, while still providing adequate resources for the legitimate, constitutional functions of government. The resulting reduction in the tax burden would provide tremendous financial relief and allow greater economic freedom and prosperity for our households. No longer will one spouse have to work to support the government while the other is working to support the family.

ENERGY INDEPENDENCE
Energy is the life blood of a nation`s economy. Whoever controls a nation`s energy controls its economy and politics. Oil is the world`s currency in the 21st century, and we have been dependent on foreign oil for almost 40 years. Our government has only given lip service on the issue of energy independence, even though the United States has enough energy to supply our needs for generations with a surplus. If we entered back into the world oil market, the U.S. could conceivably be debt free within 10 to 15 years.

HEALTH CARE
Health care is not a political right. There is no constitutional provision for government health care. To be self sustaining and self sufficient is the responsibility of the individual, NOT THE STATE. While there are problems in the health care system, some may be addressed through tort reform. Other options, such as buying health care across state lines, make it competitive. But history has shown that the healthiest people live in the most economically free and prosperous nations. I do not believe that serving elected officials should have Rolls Royce healthcare at the expense of the tax payer. They should provide for their own health care or receive no more health care than the rank and file men and women serving in uniform.

100% PRO LIFE!
The most basic function of civil government is to prevent the shedding of innocent blood. We recognize that equal protection under the law for all people is fundamental to justice. This includes people of all ages, including pre-born children. We will fight to enforce the constitutional provision that no person shall be deprived of life without due process of law.

STRENGTHEN OUR NATIONAL DEFENSE
The armed forces of the United States exist to provide for the common defense of the American people. We advocate a strong, state-of-the-art military, and we oppose unilateral disarmament. Under no circumstances would we commit U.S. military forces to serve under any flag but that of the United States of America. In issues of foreign policy, our goal is to be the friend of liberty everywhere, but we know that we can only guarantee Americas freedoms alone.

KEEP AMERICA SOVERIEGN
We support the constitutional system of accountability that vests all federal legislative power in our elected representatives in Congress. This power may not lawfully be relinquished to any international organization or group of nations. Therefore, we will oppose participation in entangling foreign alliances, treaties or global organizations that compromise our independence as a nation.

PROTECT THE SECOND AMENDMENT
The right to bear arms is guaranteed by the Constitution, and the federal government is prohibited from infringing on that right in any way. This includes placing special taxes on guns and ammunition. History has repeatedly demonstrated that liberty is at risk when free citizens are denied the ability to defend themselves against common criminals and political tyrants. The solution to violent crime is not to disarm law-abiding citizens, but for state and local governments to vigorously prosecute and appropriately punish violent criminals as well as corrupt politicians. Therefore, we will oppose all attempts on the part of the federal government to prohibit or regulate gun ownership by law-abiding citizens.
